Global o local, Sir? Food&wine journalism tempted by world food and km zero

Our food correspondent is away on assignment. At lunch. Again.

Italian food&wine journalism is in search of a “third way” between esterofilìa and a fight-em-on-the-beaches defence of the made in Italy brand. Risks to avoid are an a priori rejection of the increasing variety of tastes and/or culinary notions arriving from across the planet and a food&wine relativism which could penalise Italy’s superb food products, already under treat for many reasons.
