In December 2008, while on the bus in Rome, Carlotta Mismetti Capua met four young Afghans. They’d just arrived from Afghanistan, after a 5-month journey apparently largely on foot. Where were they going? How had they managed to get to Rome? Carlotta began to follow them and their story, writing a mix of reportage and journalistic story-telling on Facebook. The story, entitled The City of Asterix, became a video-documentary and then a cartoon strip. It won second prize in the social media category of the 2010 Ischia journalism award and featured at the 2010 Rome Fiction Fest.
In the end only one of the four remained in Italy.
