Christopher Reardon is senior digital editor/writer at UNHCR, the UN refugee agency, where he is developing new tools to engage audiences around humanitarian crises. He will be stopping in Perugia on his way back from Lebanon and Jordan, having just met with Syrian refugees, trained colleagues to produce effective multimedia stories and leverage social media, and explored ways to improve the flow and use of operational data. Before joining UNHCR in 2011, Chris led communications at TrustAfrica, a pan-African grant-making foundation, and reported on human rights and development issues from 26 countries for the Ford Foundation and several UN agencies. As a journalist, he has written regularly for The New York Times, The Christian Science Monitor and other major news organizations.
