Ece Temelkuran is a Turkish author, journalist and political commentator who has worked for Cumhuriyet, Milliyet and CNN International. She has also contributed articles to international media such as The Guardian, Der Spiegel and Le Monde Diplomatique. She was dismissed from her job at the Turkish newspaper Milliyet in 2012 because of her reporting of a massacre which left dozens of Kurdish children dead near the Turkish-Iraqi border. She has published a total of thirteen books, the most recent of which is a non-fiction political narrative set in Turkey entitled Turkey: The Insane And The Melancholy (2016). She divides her time between Istanbul and Zagreb. Her Twitter account has more than 2 million followers.
