Giancarlo Siani: freedom begins with words

An initiative for secondary school pupils in Umbria. Its objective is to consider freedom and to underline the often fine line that separates it from lawlessness.  The issues are discussed through the story of Giancarlo Siani, a journalist of the Naples daily Il Mattino, murdered in Naples in 1985 aged just 26, to whom the festival dedicated the 2009 A story still to be told award. The culmination of the project, which began in September 2009, will be on Saturday 24 April and will feature Armando D’Alterio the public prosecutor of Campobasso who investigated on the murder of Giancarlo, Libero De Rienzo the actor that played Giancarlo Siani in the movie Fortapàsc, journalist Gianluigi De Stefano, Geppino Fiorenza of the Associazione Siani and Luca Semeraro judge in Perugia and friend of Giancarlo.
