Here’s the #ijf23 programme

The partial and provisional English-language #ijf23 programme is now online. The Italian-language sessions will be added next week.

The programme is divided for convenience into topic categories, 24 of them. One of the new categories this year is, naturally, Ukraine.

The programme can be perused category by category, venue by venue, in simple chronological order or via the festival speaker list. All speakers have the sessions in which they will participate linked in their speaker profile. Note that speaker profiles also contain the videos of all sessions (if any) in which the speaker has participated in previous festivals going back to 2012.

The standard duration of a festival panel this year is 50 minutes with a break of 10 minutes before the next session. Moderators are kindly requested to finish their panel on time in order to allow the next session to begin on time. Some presentations and all non-panel-format conversations or interviews will have a duration of 25 minutes.

Note that the English-language part of the festival programme will take place on Thursday 20, Friday 21 and Saturday 22 April whereas Wednesday 19 and Sunday 23 April are for Italian-language sessions only.

As in previous years, all festival sessions will be free entry for all attendees, without tickets and without the need for registration. All festival sessions will be live-streamed with the on-demand video of each session available immediately afterwards, embedded in the session page in the programme.

Given the difficulty some attendees experienced in getting into some #ijf22 sessions, we have dropped the three smallest #ijf22 venues and replaced them with bigger ones for #ijf23. We believe these changes will ensure that a repetition of the #ijf22 over-capacity problems is unlikely.

For #ijf23 a bus transfer service for festival attendees from Rome Fiumicino airport to Perugia (and from Perugia to Rome Fiumicino airport) will be available. This transfer service will be simpler and quicker than taking the train. The new transfer service is in response to attendee requests over the years to help facilitate the trip to/from Perugia. For full details, including departure times and ticket prices, see ATTENDEE TRANSFER on the English-language festival homepage main menu.

We look forward to welcoming the festival community back to Perugia in April.
