Members of the Freedom of the Press Foundation team will be at the festival to speak with journalists who work with sensitive data, whistleblower advocates, and digital security experts.

We will user-test Dangerzone, an open source application maintained by FPF that converts potentially dangerous electronic documents into safe PDFs, to protect journalists against malware and surveillance. We will also record information from attendees who are willing to participate in follow-up interviews at a later time.

This research will inform our work on Dangerzone and on SecureDrop, an open source whistleblower submission platform used by 65+ news organizations. To set up a time to chat, you can contact us before and during the conference using our secure web form.
