With the recent turbulence in the social media ecosystem, the line between politicians and social media platforms is blurred, and the public knows it. The digital landscape is changing at an escalating speed.

We ask the question: How can we take back ownership of the flow of information and uphold journalistic ethics? How do we navigate the increasing influence of big tech on governance and trustworthiness? As we face political and commercial pressures, how can we build a truly independent and inclusive European media space that holds power accountable?

This is an opportunity to explore how professional journalism can defend public values and safeguard reliable information in an increasingly fractured media environment.

This event is private, with limited attendance available.

Venue: Ristorante del Sole Living Cafè, Via della Rupe 1, Perugia.

Organized by Display Europe, an initiative launched in 2023 - a federated multi-lingual platform with 17 media organizations. We believe in a European media grounded in public values and inclusivity and set out to build a space independent from governments and commercial influences. This space allows Europeans – regardless of their background – to connect, share ideas, debate opinions, and find reliable information to hold the powerful to account.
