This session focuses on the successful launch in Italy of The Local, the largest English-language news network in Europe, and the highs and lows of the past two years in the country.

With traditional media cutting back on foreign staff, The Local is one of the few media organizations to have significantly expanded its coverage in recent years.

The practical challenges of setting up in Italy, competing with Rome's well-established media players, and building and sustaining a global readership are all areas which will be covered in this hour-long workshop.

A diverse and enthusiastic crowd is welcome, as much of the session will be dedicated to open discussion.
