Instagram is a strong visual communication tool, useful also for reportage. It is a social network with over 300 million registered users worldwide, surpassing even Twitter. Images communicate particularly well and we will try to figure out in this workshop how to use this widespread social platform for journalism, and also how to promote the local area by linking to the Instagramers local communities and influential people on the web. Instagram can be an important tool also for citizen journalism. Everyone has a smartphone in his pocket and a story to tell. Through international and local examples we will understand how communication by images affects us more and works better than any other form of communication.
