The Arab world is changing, and so is its media, and its audience. A catchy headline is no longer capable of catching the busy reader’s eyes. Our usual news stories and reports have very little chance to be read giving our busy readers’ schedules.

And yes we can argue that the Arab spring have failed in many areas, but not here in the media, and creative arts. Out of the darkness and failure, innovative techniques to both defy censorship and grab the bored and skeptical readers attention were born.

Photo essays, caricature, stop motion movies and many many creative forms of journalism were born that challenge the reader and the journalist alike. The past few years saw a huge change in the quality of creative and new media in our region.
