OONI is a project which aims to collect information about the reality of Internet censorship in the world. Measurements are made using open methodologies and free software. The data collected is made public, thus giving the opportunity to everyone to draw their own conclusions. Through these measurements we were able to collect evidence that Blue Coat is used to censor websites in Burma. In April 2012, in Palestine, OONI was used by journalists to confirm the censorship of eight political websites. This led the Minister of Telecommunications to resign and the removal of censorship on those websites.
