Cristian Alarcon

Cristian Alarcón is the founder and director of Revista Anfibia, winner of the 2022 Alfaguara Novel Prize for The Third Paradise, and playwright and star of the performative piece Testosterona. On its latest tour through theatres in Colombia and Ecuador, the project incorporated results from an investigation done with the Pulitzer Center into each show.

Alarcón has been a visiting professor at the University of Austin, Texas, and the University of Lille, France. He's a Master at the Gabo Foundation and has won the Samuel Chavkin Prize, the Konex Prize, and the Perfil Award for Freedom of Expression. At the National University of La Plata, where he is a full-rime professor, he runs Anfibia's Narrative Journalism Master's and the School of Humanities at the National University of San Martín. His books have been translated into English, French, German, and Polish.
