Melanie Amann is co-editor-in-chief of leading Germany weekly Der Spiegel and heads the publication's Berlin office. She is the author of the book Fear for Germany, in which she dissects the rise and success of ultra-nationalist group Alternative für Deutschland (AfD) and debates what moods and currents in German society it carries.
