Noah Barkin is Special Correspondent Europe for Reuters, writing in-depth stories about European economic and political topics. In a 23-year career at Reuters he has reported from over 20 countries, including stints in New York, London and Paris. He has been based in Berlin since 2004, holding a variety of news leadership roles including Bureau Chief for Germany, Austria & Switzerland from 2011 to 2016. In recent years he has written extensively about Europe’s succession of crises – from financial turmoil in the euro zone to the standoff with Russia, the influx of refugees from the Middle East and Brexit. Noah is the author of a book on the introduction of the euro. He is a native of California and holds degrees from U.C. Berkeley and Columbia University.
