Vitali Gaidarji is a journalist and media manager, and Executive Director of the independent media organization Media Birlii – Uniunia Media (laf.md), based in Gagauzia, Republic of Moldova.
He has more than 20 years of experience in journalism and media development. Throughout his career, he has worked as a reporter, editor, television host, and media executive. His professional interests include the sustainability of regional media, digital transformation of journalism, media management, and the influence of media on political processes in polarized and multilingual societies.
Vitali holds two Master’s degrees — one in Public Administration and another in Romanian Language, Culture, Identity, and Diversity. He is currently a PhD candidate at the University of National and World Economy (UNWE) in Sofia, Bulgaria. His doctoral research is titled Electronic Media as a Factor of Political Polarization in the Republic of Moldova.
He has led and participated in numerous media and civil society development projects supported by international organizations, including Internews, UNDP, GIZ, and the U.S. Embassy in Moldova, working at the intersection of journalism, academic research, and civil society.
