If all news is local, then how is the sector responding to the challenges of digital disruption?  Hearing from a range of international experts, this panel will explore how local outlets are embracing new platforms, developing new forms of storytelling and defining audience engagement.

Arguably an understudied part of the media ecosystem, this panel will offer a number of important perspectives - and case studies - on the future of local news, an important social and journalistic issue that should concern us all.

Organised in association with the Agora Journalism Center, the gathering place for innovation in communication and civic engagement, at University of Oregon's School of Journalism & Communication. Additional support was made possible through a generous grant from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation.
