David Dunkley Gyimah

David Dunkley Gyimah is a senior lecturer at the University of Westminster, an Artist in Residence at the Southbank Centre and an international videojournalist/trainer. He has worked in the media for more than 25 years as a producer on programmes such as Channel 4 News, ABC News and Newsnight, and was one of the UK's first official videojournalists at Channel One in 1994.

David's PhD (which he completes this year) re-examines videojournalism and redefines it as a new story form which merges several media disciplines and cinema. He has trained groups such as ft.com and helped set up the Press Association’s videojournalism programme. He has spoken extensively on alternative story forms on the international circuit.

David is the recipient of several awards, including the International Videojournalism Awards (Berlin) and the Knight Batten Award for Innovations in Journalism for his site viewmagazine.tv.
