Itziar Bernaola
Itziar Bernaola is a Spanish journalist, scriptwriter and university teacher. She is deputy director of El Objetivo, a primetime TV news show concentrated on politics and economics, which is broadcast in prime time on Sundays on La Sexta TV. The show has its own fact-checking segment called Pruebas de Verificación.
Itziar started her professional career in print media, but has spent most of her professional career in television. She directed 59 segundos, a debate show on TVE, the Spanish public service broadcaster. She has also worked as a producer, scriptwriter and reporter for several shows broadcast on TVE, Antena 3, Tele 5, Documanía, ARD and ARTE and has directed and written the scripts for several documentaries. Her latest documentary Survivors has been selected in the 15th Euro-Mediterranean Documentary Market, MiradasDoc Market 2014, 40th edition Festival de Cine Iberoamericano de Huelva and 8th Festival Internacional de Cine Documental del Uruguay, Atlantidoc.
She teaches at the Universidad Europea in Madrid and on several post-graduate courses in Journalism and TV production.
