Jason Horowitz is the Rome Bureau Chief of The New York Times, covering Italy, the Vatican, Greece and other parts of Southern Europe. He previously covered American politics from the Washington bureau of the Times, with an emphasis on profiles and features. Before joining the Times, Mr. Horowitz was a staff reporter at The Washington Post and, before that, The New York Observer.
