John Nery is Associate Editor and Opinion Columnist of the Philippine Daily Inquirer, the largest newspaper in the Philippines, and also Editor-in-Chief of Inquirer.net, a leading news site in the Philippines enjoying robust growth. (The site's monthly user base has doubled in the last two years.)
John is primarily a political journalist; he has covered both national and international events (such as COP21 in Paris in 2015) primarily from a political angle. He was a Nieman Fellow (class of 2012), pursuing research possibilities in Southeast Asian history. He represents the Inquirer Group on the executive board of the Asia News Network.
