Taisia Bekbulatova founded the on-line magazine Holod Media in 2019.
In 2012 she began working as a correspondent for the politics department at Kommersant. In 2017 she became a special correspondent for the online publication Meduza, where she worked until 2019. Since the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022 she has been labelled a "foreign agent" and forced to leave Russia to continue her work as a journalist.
