Takoua Ben Mohamed

Takoua Ben Mohamed is a Tunisian illustrator born in Douz and raised in Rome. She currently attends the course in animation cinema at the Accademia Nemo di Arti Digitali in Florence. She contributes to Village UniverselItaliani+ and Near. From a young age she has been interested in graphic journalism; she has recounted using this form of storytelling her childhood under the Tunisian dictator Ben Ali, the Arab Spring, the prejudice and racism which she has encountered. Exhibitions of her work have been held in a number of Italian cities. Her personal story is told in the video produced by the journalists Antonella Andriuolo and Lorenzo Cinque, entitled My name is Takoua.
