You’ve just set up something new in one or more of these fields:
a) social media
b) digital news and/or publishing
c) news apps
d) media research project
You want visibility. Why not present your new project at the 2012 journalism festival? Check out the current confirmed festival speakers list to see who might just be listening to your presentation. The presentations will also go out on the festival webtv.
Each presentation will last 12 minutes. The number 12 has been chosen to coincide with the year. At the 2013 festival each presentation will last 13 minutes.
The event will be structured as follows: 3 presentations one after the other and then a 15-minute Q&A session between the audience and the 3 presenters. This set will be repeated 4 times. So a total of 12 presentations will be made in the 4-hour event. Only one 4-hour event will be held at the festival. The event will be hosted by Luca Conti and Johanna Vehkoo.
The presentations must be in English or in Italian. Simultaneous translation will be offered.
An informal festival jury will select an overall winner and any others worthy of special mention. The winner (and possibly others worthy of mention) will have his/her project posted on the festival social networks and website and will be invited to return to the 2013 festival as a speaker.
To apply, please send the following to firstname.lastname@example.org:
a) a brief description of your project plus all relevant links
b) a brief CV including age, nationality, current city of residence, background, social media links
c) a photo (in a separate .jpeg file)
The deadline for the receipt of applications is 29 February 2012. Those selected to make their presentations at the festival will be notified by 05 March 2012. The presentations event will take place during the journalism festival in Perugia Italy on Sunday 29 April 2012.
