Data journalism is evolving at a rapid pace. Since last year’s International Journalism Festival we have seen many data stories breaking and data projects appearing around the world. We’ve seen countless tools, services and initiatives to support work in this emerging field. The opening debate at this year’s edition of the School of Data Journalism will bring together leading data journalists and advocates to discuss the past year’s advances in the field and what the future holds. What were the big data stories of the year? What were the key technological developments and projects and what do these developments mean for journalists and newsrooms in Europe? Where is data journalism today and where is it headed?

This session is part of the School of Data Journalism organised in association with European Journalism Centre and Open Knowledge Foundation
