Technology has significantly impacted three aspects of our society and, in particular, the legal and political world, which are closely related. These are the maintenance of confidentiality of certain information and the increasing difficulty of doing so, the clear erosion of the idea of privacy, the "selling” of data by citizens themselves, and the desired advent of a transparency of data and processes that would bring democracy and equality. The questions are complex and the points to be discussed are manifold. The essential issues (including the impact of Datagate, leaking and whistleblowing, the advent of drones and new types of invasion of privacy and the constant attacks on State secrets) will be addressed, albeit briefly, from both a legal and information technology point of view.
