Who has the best food system in the world? How can we minimize the environmental impact of agriculture? Why are some countries simultaneously experiencing undernutrition and obesity, and how effectively are the policy responses? Who wastes the most food, why, and what can be done to tackle this problem?

The Food Sustainability Index assesses the sustainability of food systems across the globe under three pillars: agriculture, nutrition and food waste.

To engage the public on these key topics, the BCFN Foundation has teamed up with the Thomson Reuters Foundation to launch the Food Sustainability Media Award. An international prize to recognise the work of professional journalists and emerging talent on issues related to food security, sustainability, agriculture and nutrition.

Organised and sponsored by the Barilla Center for Food & Nutrition Foundation.
