Western journalists have clamored to tell the stories of those caught up in the recent wave of migration to Europe. However, the refugees at the heart of these events have often been passive by-standers in the construction of their narratives, remaining an untapped source of knowledge and impeding audiences ability to understand what's going on. This panel will offer differing insights into projects that have sought to harness the expertise of these individuals, repositioning them from being the subject of the story to its co-curator.
