Anca Toader is the Journalism Training Editor at BBC Media Action, the BBC’s media for development charity. She worked with the BBC for 10 years as a news, current affairs and factual documentary maker before joining the World Service Trust (later BBC Media Action) in 2008. For the past decade she has trained journalists and programme makers in Europe, Africa, Asia and the Middle East, with a focus on digital communication tools to directly impact local communities. Since 2007, Anca has also worked with filmmaker Manuela Maiguashca on projects that combine non-linear storytelling formats with social media and digital tools to create more empathetic communication. Their work is now used at Maastricht University in the Netherlands and London School of Economics in the UK.
