Andrew North is a journalist and writer who has been covering Afghanistan for the past two decades. He was based in Kabul for the BBC for many years, and most recently has been reporting on the Taliban’s return to power for a wide range of international publications. His work has appeared in The Economist, Nikkei Asia, New Lines, AirMail, Tortoise, Foreign Affairs and The Guardian. He has reported widely from across Asia and the Middle East, with postings in Delhi and Baghdad for the BBC. Andrew spent many years reporting on the war in Iraq and has also covered conflicts in Libya, Lebanon, Georgia and Kosovo. He also uses drawings in some of his reporting and spoke about the role of art in journalism at Perugia in 2019.
