Anila Baig

Born and based in Bradford (England), Anila Baig is an award-winning journalist with more than 20 years’ experience in local, regional and national media. Her first columns were published in the Bradford Telegraph & Argus (T&A) newspaper at the age of 16 and she wrote for the Sunday Times magazine while in the sixth form at school. She qualified as a news reporter and worked at the T&A for four years before moving to the Yorkshire Post newspaper in Leeds where she worked as a district news reporter and columnist, winning the Press Gazette Columnist of the Year award. She joined The Sun newspaper as a columnist and feature writer in 2004 and also presented a documentary called Great British Islam. She was also a judge at the British Press awards.

She currently writes for Asian Life magazine published by Newsquest which was named Magazine of the Year at the O2 Press Awards and contributes to the Daily Mirror newspaper.
