Annie Hylton is an award-winning investigative journalist and magazine writer from Canada, based in Paris. She has a background in international humanitarian law and human rights and is a graduate of Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism where she was a Stabile fellow of investigative journalism. She reports on gender, migration, and human rights. Her reporting, which often involves speaking with traumatized populations and survivors of gender-based violence, incorporates informed consent and trauma-informed interviewing practices. Hylton has reported on such issues from East Africa to Central America. She is a recipient of the 2018 NYU Reporting Award and teaches investigative journalism at Sciences Po Paris.
