Annie Kelly is an award-winning journalist and editor for The Guardian and Observer newspapers. She is currently leading The Guardian's special human rights reporting project on modern slavery and trafficking, which has run major investigations into slavery in global supply chains, domestic and international sex trafficking, corruption in global labour recruitment, the abuse of overseas domestic workers and trafficking on the migration trail. The project has won numerous human rights and journalism awards for its investigations and multimedia stories and has led to systemic change in global food sourcing and labour rights for migrant workers. Prior to her current role she was a correspondent based in Latin America and has also reported on major human rights stories in countries including Liberia, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, India, South Africa, Mexico and the Philippines.
