Clayton Aldern

Clayton Aldern is a senior data reporter at Grist. A Reynolds Journalism Institute fellow, his writing and data visualization have appeared in The Atlantic, The Economist, The Guardian, Vox, and many other publications. He holds a master's in neuroscience and a master's in public policy from the University of Oxford, where he studied as a Rhodes scholar. He is also a research affiliate at the University of Washington's Center for Studies in Demography and Ecology. Most recently, he was part of a team at Grist and the Texas Observer (supported by the Pulitzer Center) that won an Online News Association award in Investigative Data Journalism. His book The Weight of Nature, on the neurological effects of rapid environmental change, is forthcoming from Dutton.
