Damian Osta
Damián Osta is co-founder of the Uruguayan newspaper la diaria and fellow of Knight Foundation/Ashoka in the News & Knowledge program.
From his position as CEO of la diaria, he has led the process of converting the newspaper from a print newspaper to a qualified information platform, 100% supported by its subscribers. la diaria arose thanks to an alliance between journalists and critical citizens, who financed it before starting. It is managed by a worker's cooperative and has strong roots in the community that supports it.
Currently la diaria has been invited to join the research affiliate program of the Membership Puzzle Project created by The Correspondent and New York University.
