Daniele Vicari is an award-winning film director. He began his career in the field of documentaries, including co-authorship of Partigiani (1997). His first full-length film was Velocità massima (2002), followed by L'orizzonte degli eventi (2005), Il mio paese (2006) and Il passato è una terra straniera (2008). He contributed as a film critic to the reviews Cinema Nuovo (1990-1996) and Cinema 60 (1997-1999). He is co-author with Antonio Medici of L'alfabeto dello sguardo (2004). His latest film is Diaz (2012).
