Don Aniello Manganiello was the Santa Maria della Provvidenza parish priest in Scampia, a run-down area on the outskirts of Naples, from the early 1990s until September 2010. During this time he was a leading figure in the fight against local organized crime. He is co-author with the journalist Andrea Manzi of Gesù è più forte della camorra (2011).
