Gregoire Lemarchand

Grégoire Lemarchand has been deputy editor-in-chief, head of social networks & fact-checking at Agence France-Presse's (AFP) headquarters in Paris since 2016. Previously, he spent 12 years reporting in Paris and Italy and four years as head of the social networks unit, overseeing AFP's presence on social media and UGC verification.

In the spring of 2017, he participated in the CrossCheck collaborative project during the final weeks of the French presidential campaign. In 2018, he was a member of the EU High-Level Expert Group on disinformation. Since November 2017, he has been overseeing the worldwide development of digital investigation & fact-checking at AFP with factuel.afp.com, available in 10 languages. The network of more than 70 journalists spans more than 30 countries.

He has also been a teacher at the School of Journalism of Sciences Po Paris since 2013.
