Gul Bukhari is a media and development professional, with a diverse background including international experience in finance and banking, having worked for Citibank, the London Stock Exchange and Bank of America. She has a Masters in Business Administration from the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS, Pakistan) and a Bachelor of Arts from Kinnaird College for Women, Lahore, Pakistan. She has written extensively on current affairs including for the BBC, Al Jazeera, The Print, Dawn and more, and has worked as a television anchor for Express 24/7. She is fluent in English and Urdu.

Currently a weekly columnist with The Print, she writes on current affairs, human rights, and civil-military dynamics in Pakistan and appears regularly as an analyst on international and national current affairs shows. She is a political and human rights activist and has worked on strengthening democracy and civil rights. Bukhari is also a citizen journalist and micro-blogger and reports on events and issues the mainstream media is either unwilling or unable to cover due to constraints on their free speech. She has published pioneering research in violence against women in Pakistan.
