Joel Konopo is an investigative journalist and Managing Partner of INK Centre for Investigative Journalism, a non-profit newsroom in Gaborone, Botswana that produces stories in the public interest for organisations that have significant budgetary constraints. Previously, he was editor of the Botswana Guardian. He was part of a team of journalists who worked on the Panama Papers that also implicated business people in Botswana. Konopo holds a BA in Political Science from the University of Botswana. During his time at the Botswana Guardian, the newspaper won a dozen awards, including on investigative journalism.
