Johannes Stefansson

whistleblower

Johannes Stefansson blew the whistle on a major corruption scheme that involved one of the world’s largest fishing companies and the government of Namibia which led to criminal charges for fraud and bribery. He went public with his concerns over corruption in November 2019 in an Aljazeera film that named key Namibian officials, including two former ministers, who are now in jail and awaiting trail. Johannes, who worked for Icelandic fishing group Samherji, has faced attempts on his life but is to testify in Namibia court.
