Joseph Harker is Senior Editor for Diversity and Development at The Guardian, where his aim is to embed diversity and inclusion across all parts of the news organisation and at all levels. Before taking this role, he was a columnist and The Guardian's Deputy Opinion Editor. Joseph founded The Guardian's Positive Action Scheme for aspiring Black, Asian and minority-ethnic journalists, which he still runs. He edited The Guardian's Black History wallchart series in 2020. And he's a former editor of Black Briton newspaper.
