Juan Andrés Muñoz is an experienced digital executive with a diverse and dynamic career in journalism and technology. As the founder of Pamplonews, a hyperlocal news startup, he has demonstrated his commitment to delivering community-focused news with cutting-edge digital strategies.

Before this new venture, Muñoz led CNN en Español digital strategy and business for over 10 years, where he significantly transformed its digital presence from a promotional platform into a trusted source of news for Spanish-speaking audiences globally. This transformation led to increased site traffic and established CNN en Español as a leader in social media, boasting the most followed Spanish-language news accounts on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram, among other accolades. He also played a pivotal role in developing and launching CNNMéxico.com, ensuring comprehensive coverage of national and international news for Mexican audiences.

He began his journey in CNN with CNN Interactive in 1998, contributing to the launch of CNNenEspanol.com and covering major global events like the Kosovo War, Venezuelan presidential elections, the Oscars, and the FIFA World Cup. In his CNN career Muñoz received several accolades, including Peabody and DuPont awards as part of the network’s team covering breaking news like the Asian tsunami, Hurricane Katrina, and the 2008 US presidential election.
