Lisa MacLeod is Principal and Publishing Lead for the Financial Times’s boutique consultancy, FT Strategies. Her recent projects include leading a 9-month subscription programme with 8 European publishers, and a digital revenue launchpad project.

Lisa has more than 27 years experience in digital convergence and transition programmes, most notably working for 12 years at the Financial Times in London where she headed up newsroom operations, was Head of Operations for FT.com, an Assistant Editor and Managing Editor.

She also partners with Women in News as a trainer, consultant and advisor on digital transformation in newsrooms across the globe. She led digital transformation at two of Africa’s largest media companies: Tiso Blackstar (now Arena Holdings) in South Africa, and Naspers’s 24.com.

She was Vice-President of the World Association of News Publishers and is now on the Supervisory Board and the Nominating Committee, is a long-standing board member of the World Editors Forum, Leader-in-Residence at the University of Lancashire, and a mentor on the Journalism Innovation and Leadership Programme.
