Michele Morgante

Michele Morgante is Professor of Genetics at the University of Udine and Scientific Director of the Istituto di Genomica Applicata. As lead researcher at DuPont Genomics Research he managed a project on the study of the genome of corn, the results of which have had a major impact on the way genomes are used in agriculture. He is president of the Società Italiana di Genetica Agraria and a member of the Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei. In 2005 he was awarded the medal for Physical and Natural Sciences by the Accademia delle Scienze.
