Mimmo Candito is president of Reporter senza Frontiere, the Italian arm of Reporters sans Frontières, and an award-winning war correspondent of the Italian daily La Stampa. He has reported on most of the main international conflicts from the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan onwards. He is a visiting lecturer in the Theory and techniques of journalistic language at the University of Turin.
