Monia Azzalini

senior associate Osservatorio of Pavia

Monia Azzalini is senior associate of the Osservatorio of Pavia, where she started working as researcher after graduating in philosophy. Her main activities concern applied research and studies related to media, gender and society including aspects of diversity and inclusion, public and political communication, journalism. She has authored several articles, book chapters and research reports. Together with the association GiULiA, she has designed the project "100 women against stereotypes", developed with Fondazione Bracco and the support of the European Commission Representation in Italy. Since 2005 she has been national co-coordinator of the Global Media Monitoring Project. In September 2018 she started a PhD in Language Sciences at Ca' Foscari University of Venice, with a research project on the use of language in the construction of gender identities within and through the media.
