Oleksiy Bondarenko is Teaching Fellow in Politics and Quantitative Methods in the Department of Politics and International Studies (PAIS) at the University of Warwick (UK). He joined PAIS in 2022, having previously taught at City, University of London, University College London and University of Kent, where he recently completed his PhD. He is also affiliated to the Centre for Federal Studies at the University of Kent. His research interests include informal institutions, elite networks, subnational authoritarianism, federalism, decentralization and party system with the specific focus on Russia, Ukraine and Central Asia. Currently, he is particularly interested in the impact of formal and informal incentives provided by the process of decentralization in Ukraine on the perception of the central government by regional business, political elites and society, including their response to the Russian invasion.
