Saverio Lodato is among the most authoritative Italian journalists on the mafia, anti-mafia and Sicily. He is the author of numerous books on the subject. For thirty years he was correspondent of l'Unità in Sicily. His latest book is Il patto sporco. Il processo Stato-mafia nel racconto di un suo protagonista (with Nino Di Matteo, Chiarelettere, 2018).
