Seth C. Lewis, Ph.D., is the Shirley Papé Chair in Electronic Media in the School of Journalism and Communication at the University of Oregon, and an affiliated fellow of the Information Society Project at Yale Law School. A two-time winner of the Outstanding Article in Journalism Studies Award, Lewis studies journalism’s digital transformation, particularly in regard to data, code, algorithms, and related phenomena. He is editor of Journalism in an Era of Big Data: Cases, Concepts, and Critiques (Taylor & Francis, 2016) and co-editor of Boundaries of Journalism: Professionalism, Practices, and Participation (Routledge, 2015).
